Zoya - Jenine

3 coats. Lovely Barbie pink with some weak silver shimmer. I like it lots. Feminine and elegant but it still pops. In a way it's the kind of pink old cougars wear...but that doesn't have to be a bad thing! I'm not old... And then owl earrings. Can be found at Glitter. I got several compliments on those earrings. ^^

Diamond Cosmetics - Blue Moonglo

One coat on top of China Glaze - Pelican Grey. Unfortunately my camera isn't good enough, so I couldn't take a picture of this glowing in the dark. But it does. At least if you held your nails close to a light source right before. Looks really cool! Blue Moonglo is very sheer, light blue/turquoise with some micro glitter.

Light bulb and then flash. 2 coats. From Anchors Away, my second polish from that collection. As always (these days) my nails are totally messed up due to lack of time.
This is supposed to have shimmer, blue shimmer. And sure, I guess it has that, but it's very weak. So this looks like a grey creme polish. I don't mind that though. I like this a lot. Light grey is the shit really.

Just Ordered...

Ancient Jade

Starboard

Foil Me Once

Perfect Mol-Ten

Dirty Sexy Money

Phazers On Stunning

Shields Up

The last two was a must. I'm a total Trekkie!
Lots of green. Nice. :)

Zoya - Persiphony & Comparison

2 coats. Doesn't it look pretty in the sunshine? It's a red shimmer, but a soft red, maybe with some pink in it too. Very pretty. This generated one compliment from a female customer.

I kinda felt like it was similar in shade to the polish I just wore before this, Zoya - Anthea.

Anthea, Persiphony

Anthea, Persiphony

Anthea, Persiphony, Anthea, Persiphony. 3 coats each. And bed marks...
Certainly not dupes. But close in shade, yes. Anthea is more red and is more of a creme polish with some golden shimmer while Persiphony is more pink and shimmery all over. I think I prefer Persiphony, but they're both nice.

Zoya - Anthea

3 coats of Anthea and still VNL. But that's ok. I had, for some strange and faulty reason, put this polish with the pinks. Wtf? It's a light red with some weak golden shimmer. Nothing special and this shade of red is not good for my skin, but I kinda love it anyway. It's pretty and elegant.

Hey, tonight I'm going to a concert. Josh Groban! Lovely voice. Very, very lovely voice. Too bad Veronica Maggio is having her concert the very same night though.

OPI - Vio-Let's Surf!

Glitter leftovers from my dip-in remover and bed marks. Great pics, really.
Anyway... 4 coats, still VNL. I knew this was going to be sheer, but I bought it anyway because it looked so pretty. It's a light, dusty purple base with silver/white particles in it as well as fuchsia shimmer. Totally awesome. But maybe I should do some layering. Hm, I wish I still had Zoya - Malia, that would have been a good combo.

Kicks - Bronzy Heels

And on to the next. 2 coats this time. Bronzy Heels is kinda beige. Metallic-ish? Very simple and elegant and work appropriate. I think I like it. Perfect for days when you don't want your polish to poke your eyes out.
Kicks' nail polish costs 39 SEK for 8 ml by the way.

Kicks - Studio 54

So I started out with Studio 54. 3 coats, because the formula was a bit tricky to get even. I like this polish. I was worried I wouldn't just because my friend Mona at LackyNails didn't.
So far I have positive feelings towards Kicks' nail polish. Not the most interesting shades out there, but it's hard to compete these days and I do understand that they want a good base collection. Looking forward to seeing new shades in the future.

PS. I asked the girl in the Accessorize store if they would get their nail polish anytime soon. She knew nothing of it. I also tried writing Accessorize, but they haven't answered. DS.

New Polishes

Ok, so I went to Kicks to get some make up remover and I also decided to buy some of their new polishes. Their shades aren't too interesting, but they are cheap and it's always fun to try something new. Therefore I got myself Bronzy Heels and Studio 54 (I just don't need more pinks).

OPI - Your Villa Or Mine?

3 coats, not perfect opacity. I expected this to be some kind of pink with gold shimmer. But in reality it mostly looked orange. It doesn't look that orange in the pic, no, but in real life it did. My camera was trying to make it look like I wanted it to. How sweet.
Anyway, I think I might get rid of this. Orange is not my thing.

Zoya - Raine

Here's Raine. A light pink polish with some light purple in it as well. Pink and orange shimmer. Very pretty, but sheer. This is 4 coats, still VNL and it dried really slowly. I got bed marks, as you can see, even if I went to bed some 6 hours after painting my nails. Now this would look great with just a coat or two, the sheerness would not be a problem...but it is, because my nails are discoloured. Clean, lovely nails would look great with the shimmer of just one coat of this polish, I am sure. As it is now I feel I have to get rid of it because I fear I will never get my healthy nail colour back. After all my nails have been discoloured for over 2 years now, nothing is helping.

A Little Purple Comparison (Orly & Nubar)

Now what about Nubar - Petunia Sparkle and Orly - Bubbly Bombshell?

Orly, Nubar, Orly, Nubar

Dear. It's kinda hard to tell these two apart. 3 coats each. Pretty much the exact same colour. The only real difference is the shape of the glitters. Petunia Sparkle is all regular glitter and Bubbly Bombshell has both regular and slightly larges pieces in it. That does make a difference...close up anyway. I'm not convinced I should be owning both of these. Are you?

A Little Blue Comparison (Orly and BeYu)

These two look kinda similar, don't they? Orly - Lunar Eclipse and BeYu - 381. Let's compare them!

Orly, BeYu, Orly.

Orly, BeYu, Orly, BeYu.

Same as above.

They are kinda similar for real. But my camera does make it more similar than they really are. Because in real life Lunar Eclipse has this pink glow to it that 381 doesn't have. Then Lunar Eclipse is a slightly brighter shade of blue. 381 is truly midnight blue and it has micro glitter in silver and lighter blue (seriously, that polish looks like the night sky!). Lunar Eclipse is the sheerer one with 3 coats versus 381's 2. But Lunar Eclipse is more vibrant.
I can't really decide which one I like the most. So I'm keeping both.

OPI - Simmer & Shimmer

2 coats on top of Zoya - Crystal. I also put one coat of top coat on, but that wasn't enough. You still feel the glitter. This is not that pretty, but it sure is fun. Main colour is blue, you can all see that. Then we have some other colours. I'm gonna go ahead and guess which they are. Silver, gold/yellow, orange, pink and perhaps even green? It's hard to tell.
It's Friday and I finally have a weekend off. But I am completely broke. Yay. No fun for me!

Thursday, 15 September 2011

Psst...

...there are 23 polishes in my blog sale. Just sayin'...

Zoya - Crystal

Not the best pics, but you can still see the gorgeousness of this polish. A bit sheer, this is 3 coats and I still didn't think it was was perfect coverage. But really gorgeous. I feel like there's nothing left to say about this polish since it already has been seen on every other blog there is out there. Lovely blue base colour and then golden flecks all over. And in Zoya's new collection, Gems and Jewels, a polish with (what seems to be) the same blue shade will be released. That's gonna be good, I think. I really like this type of blue and I'm not even a huge fan of blue (on my nails).

A Package

I had to order a new bottle of perfume since mine got empty weeks ago. My wonderful perfume is Flowerbomb by Viktor&Rolf. 609 SEK... Oh well. It lasts for about a year, so I guess it's ok.
Anyway, so I also ordered Simmer & Shimmer from the Burlesque collection. This is my second polish from that collection! I loved so many of them when the collection was new and now I have bought 2 of them. Strange, eh?

Misa - Bellacious

Sorry for the tip wear. I have worn this for 2 work days and no base or top coat is in sight. Two coats. I love this lots. It's a creme polish and I love it. The formula was fine and the pink shade is fabulous. It's not a bright pink, it's more of a harmonic pink. I do love harmonic stuff, as I have mentioned before. Let's blame that on me being a Libra.
Anyways, this could easily be one of the best pinks I have. Pink lovers: get this polish!
